Which Cost Plus Hearing model is right for me?
Pick by what matters most. The Invisible ($399) sits inside your ear canal, is pre-tuned out of the box, and adjusts volume on the charging case — designed for elderly users and anyone who wants the simplest, most discreet experience (no app, no ear-touching in public). The Behind-the-Ear ($499) is the workhorse — most powerful, 16-channel, full Bluetooth — best for moderate-to-severe hearing loss. The Earbud ($499) looks like wireless earbuds for stigma-free everyday wear. All three come with the same 45-day trial — you can order more than one and return the others.
Do I need to use an app for the Invisible model?
No. Cost Plus Invisible Hearing Aids are pre-tuned at the factory — just take them out of the box, plug them in, and put them in your ears. There's no app, no self-fitting test, and no setup. Volume adjusts using the buttons on the charging case, so the wearer never has to fiddle with the device in their ear — useful for elderly users and anyone who wants total discretion in public. The Behind-the-Ear and Earbud models do use a free 5-minute self-fitting app for personalized tuning.
Are they actually as good as $3,000–$6,000 hearing aids?
For mild-to-moderate hearing loss — yes. All three Cost Plus models use clinical-grade DSP processing, adaptive noise reduction, and (on Behind-the-Ear and Earbud) Bluetooth streaming found in premium prescription devices. What you're missing isn't technology — it's three audiologist visits and a clinic's rent. The 45-day trial exists so you can verify this on your own ears.
How are you able to sell them this cheap?
We sell direct. No clinics, no audiologist commissions, no retail markup, no brand-tier upcharge. We list every cost on the receipt — components, testing, packaging, warranty reserve — add a fixed 20% margin, and that's the price.
Are Cost Plus Hearing aids HSA/FSA eligible?
Yes. All three Cost Plus Hearing models are FDA-OTC certified medical devices and qualify for HSA and FSA spending. You can pay with your HSA/FSA card at checkout, or submit your receipt for reimbursement.
Will Medicare or insurance cover them?
Original Medicare doesn't cover hearing aids (no matter the brand or price). Some Medicare Advantage plans do — and because Cost Plus Hearing aids are FDA-OTC certified, they usually qualify. Check with your specific plan.
Can I try more than one model?
Yes. Lots of customers order two models, try both, and send back the one that's not the right fit. Both will arrive with the same 45-day clock — full refund on whichever you return, no restocking fee, free return shipping.
What if I need help fitting them?
Email us at support@costplushearing.com. A real human (not a chatbot) will walk you through the self-fitting test, ear dome sizing, and Bluetooth pairing. No charge, ever.
What happens after the 3-year warranty?
If anything breaks during the warranty period, we repair or replace it free, including the rechargeable batteries. After 3 years, you can buy a replacement at our cost-plus price — same transparent receipt.
